24th March was the thirteenth "Worlf Tuberculosis Day" and this year's theme was " Everyone is Responsible for Controlling Tuberculosis". Since WHO began to collect disease data, the rate of worldwide new cases of tuberculosis in 2005 firstly had gone balanced and the rate of tuberculosis found had been doubled since 2000. Althougth there was new progress, tuberculosis remained as a serious gloal public health problem and every year there are 9 million new cases and more than 1.5 million of deaths of it. The meaning of this year's was" everyone could exert himself to control tuberculosis and everyone's action was of value".
In order to put the aim and meaning of this propaganda theme and to earlier achieve the goal " citizens' knowledge about preventing tuberculosis up to 80% in 2010" proposing by National Plan of Preventing and Curing Tuberculosis, large propaganda and consulting would be held in Xinjing Park, North Xinjing on the mroning of 23rd March by Changning Disease Prevention and Control Center. The activity went in the way of consulting, questionnairre survey with prizes, giving propaganda materials and hanging banners and invited experts of veneral disease, AIDS, tuberculosis, infectious disease prevention and immunity prevention from Changning Center Hospital, Bawu Hospital and Disease Prevention and Control Center of the district to answer consulting questions.
The atmosphere was quite warm and many people consulted. There were more thean 5,000 propaganda materials given out, over 500 citizens taking part in and more than 100 citizens consulting. It got good results.
