On the afternoon of May 13, led by Director of National Program Office of "Step to Smokeless China" Zhang Yulin, 6 journalists and professors from News Center of CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, China Youth's Daily and China Communications University came to report the implementation of smoking control program. After hearing the overall and detailed report bygram office of the district, they visited Disease Prevention and Control Center of the district, Jiangsu Street and Jiangsu community health service centers and exchanged and discussed about work experiences and difficulties in smoking control with officials and staffs of these departments.

Selected as a national experimental unit of "Step to Smokeless China" program in 2007, Changning would carry out two-year smoke control work with an aim of "Control Passive Smoking and Build Smokeless Environment". Our district had held hundreds of activities around the five strategies of the program in one year since the program started. In the report, the program office of the district specially introduced five aspects of the work, that was, "build supporting environment of smoking control under the support of polices; integrate resources to hold social propaganda of smoking control widely; find opportunities and goverments lead to build smokeless environment; construct atmosphere of building smokeless families in communities by the way of forming new wave in the new year; build multiple somke control net by the cooperation among parties". Good smoke control social environment would be built gradually and citizens' recognition about and resistance to the harm of passive smoking would be enhanced by implementing the program.

The interview was held in five cities of the country in order to collect "stories" happening during the process of carrying out the and program and to promote the further step of implementing the program by media's report, propagatins successful experiences and causing discussions. During the interview and exchange, journalists fully approved the ways that our district used various media to carry out propaganda about smoking control and made the government lead to build smokeless department. They also asked about work like sending short messages about smoking control and propagation on digital screens in communities with interests. At Jiangsu Street, journalists also had a secret visit to street staff about the smoking control systems and in the end, they believed that Changning's implementaion of the smoking control program and the report were consistent with the fact.
