Recently, epidemic situation of hand-foot-mouth disease caused by infecting EV71 broke out in parts of our country and the situation was serious. Health Bureau of the district responsed quickly and took actions initiatively by starting various preventive measures including monitoring, training, guiding and propagating.

The disease prevention office held several work meeting to integrate thinking and arrange various detailed preventive measures. It consolidated monitoring and handling of epidemic situation and set up daily no-report system of epidemic situation. It made Changning Preventing Work Plans of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease, preventing responsibilities of hand-foot-mouth disease, handling flow chart of prevention, emergency handling flow chart of centralized break-out of hand-foot-mouth disease and cure report flow chart of community service centers. It organized staff of Disease Prevention and Control Center of the district, all levels of medical departments in the district, expert teams of hand-foot-mouth disease and health teachers of primary and middle schools in the district to receive training about preventing hand-foot-mouth disease. Many work including cure, report and sterilization and isolation of hand-foot-mouth disease has been standardized. After the training, Disease Prevention and Control Center of the district carried out overall guide and gave correcting advices to problem found in the guide to ensure that preventive measures would  be implemented in medical departments, schools and bany-cared centers. It held check and sterilization among floating children in important places of guest workers and large propaganda and consulting. Except propagate to important groups and in important places, the center also carried out health education in many ways and printed and gave propaganda materials including  handbooks about hand-foot-mouth disease prevention, posters of Prevent Hand-foot-mouth Disease to Protect Children and other posters to medical departments, streets and schools. It made propaganda DVD to send to each community, medical departments and large screens of public places for show and Changning TV played it every evening. The range of propaganda was enlarged by publishing propaganda materials on education information websites, Changning Daily and websites of the center.

Accoring to the yearly monitoring report about epidemic situations, the peak time of occurence of hand-foot-mouth disease was May to July every year. All professionals of Disease Prevention and Control Center of the district have made overall arrangement and been ready to be against the peak time of occurance of hand-foot-mouth disease.
