As workers in the field of public health, staff in Changning Disease Prevention & Control Center could not ignore their responsibilities and asked voluntarily for going to the disastrous area when thought that epidemic situation would break out anytime among people there because that always came out after disasters. Mr. Jiang Enmao, the chief of disease media sterilization section went to Sichuan as a member of medical team of Shanghai Health Bureau for helping people in the disastrous area. On the morning of May 14 he put his daughter who was going to attend the examination to high school aside unhesitatingly and went to the front line of the disastrous area without saying goodbye to his family members. On the moring of May 22, another young excellence in that section also went to Sichuan as a member of the fifth rescue team organized by Shanghai Disease Prevention & Control Center. Director Sun Chenguang and Secretary Huang Desheng went to Pudong airport to see him off. Yin Shenwei said he would finish the work assigned by leaders and would get honor for medical staff in Shanghai especially for Changning health system. The simple words stated his decision to contribute to people in the disastrous area. As reserve members of Disease Prevention & Control Center, Zhuang Jianlin, Zheng Wenwei, Zhuang Zujia, Lu Guoliang and Wang Zhenyu had made full preparations to await orders to start off. Some of them asked about the starting date everyday sincerely, which expressed their determination to go to the disastrous area to serve people there. Comrades like them in the center were a lot and presently there were more than 40 joining in the volunteer group of helping people and preventing diseases. Ten comrades had become members of the reserve force and more had signed their names on the written report solomnly. Faced with the national distress, everyone of Changning Disease Prevention & Control Center was thinking about what they could do for people in the disastrous area and the country. Everyone, male or female, said they would await oders to start off anytime when the country or the disastrous area needs.
