The incubation period is from a few hours to six days, suddenly onset, 100% patients have diarrhea, and the diarrhea is painless, stool several times a day or unaccountable, with large volume, daily from 2000 to 4000 ml, serious patient would be 8000 ml, initially appears as yellow water, soon turns to be the sample of the water that after using for washing rice, a small number of patients would have bloody water or tar-like stool, projectile and border vomiting after diarrhea, initially stomach contents, and then water that after using for washing rice, because of severe diarrhea and vomit, the body fluid and electrolyte loss arising dehydration, light symptoms are thirst, mouth a little dry, serious symptoms are irritability, eye socket subsidence, spiritual sluggish, skin dry and wrinkled, lost flexibility, hoarse, limbs cool, body temperature drops, the fluid concentrates, pulse turns weak, heart rate low and blunt, blood pressure drops, if not promptly rescue, would be life-threatening. As patients get away from dangerous, majority symptoms disappear gradually, and the patients returning to normal, some patients develop fever response, generally 38 ~ 39 ° C, and could dissipates after the sustained 1 ~ 3 days, most of the current cholera symptoms are light and similar to intestinal symptoms.
It could be divided into four types according to dehydration level, blood pressure, pulse and the urine volume.
(1)Light, only short-term diarrhea, without stool of typical water that after the use of washing rice, no dehydration performance, blood pressure and pulse are normal, the volume of urine is slight.
(2)Medium, has typical symptoms and typical stool, obvious dehydration, the pulse has small-speed, blood pressure decreases, and urine volume is seldom, daily less than 500 ml.
(3)Heavy: patients extremely weak or do not have clear ideas, severe dehydration and shock, the pulse rate is weak and could not be touched, the blood pressure drops or could not be detected, the volume of urine is so little or no urine, could dead after several hours’ typical symptoms.
(4)Fulminant: also known as dry cholera, onset intensely, dead of circulatory failure with out ranging from the typical symptoms of diarrhea and vomit
