The Health Bureau said that the two patients were infected after their business travel from Maldives and Cambodia, and the source of infection came from abroad, the primary cases have not yet been found in Dongguan. The health sector has disinfected in the vicinity region of the two patients, and helped the residents nearby dealing with the places where the mosquitoes and flies reproduce, in order to avoid the second time infection. The Health Bureau has also taken the dynamic track with their relatives and friends, and found no one was infected。

According to the two cases of imported dengue fever in Dongguan City, the City Health Bureau, issued to the public yesterday that the disease is preventable and governance, and do not need to fear about it. The clinical characteristics of the dengue fever are acute disease, high fever, headache, pain in body muscle, joint of bone and marrow, extreme fatigue, or skin rash, bleeding tendencies and lymphadenopathy.  Most cases are not severe diseases, 5 ~ 10 days’ symptomatic treatment could cure it. In addition, the health department said that since the most fundamental way of the dengue fever prevention is to eliminate mosquitoes, every unit and citizen should do good of the environmental and home hygiene, thoroughly remove and abandon the water in the idle cans, pots, sinks, vases, buckets, and other water containers indoor and outdoor; the citizen could also take some anti-mosquito measures, such as spraying drugs and hang mosquito nets.
