2008-1-28 15:04:00

Angina pectoris is a kind of clinical syndrome that there is acute and distant short of blood and oxygen of myocardium because coronary artery cannot provide enough blood. It not only represents the pain caused by short of blood of myocardium, but also includes other symptoms caused by it, such as awful tiredness, fullness and discomfort in chest and breathing with difficult which are been considered as same symptoms of angina pectoris. The following five are characteristics of breaking out of typical angina pectoris:
(1). Place: the typical place of angina pectoris is in the upper part or under the middle part pf breastbone. The range of pain is not limited and is like a fist or a palm. The pain can spread to the front part of heart and even across the font breast, so the limit line is not very clear. It often spreads to left shoulder and inner part of left arm even to ring finger and little finger. Or it spreads up to neck, pharynx, the lower jaw, teeth, face or head sometimes; it spreads down to the upper stomach and a little can spread to legs and toes; it spreads back to left scapula and right to right arm and right shoulder and even to inner of fingers of right hand, which is not so common. Generally speaking, the painful place doesn¡¯t change while breaking out.
(2). Nature: typical symptom is reflected by pressing or tightening pains with anxiousness or horror about death, which is about 60% of sufferers with angina pectoris. The one that is not typical is described as burning or dull pains instead of pin or knife. Some will feel fullness and discomfort on chest while it breaks out. Patients always unawarely stop what they are doing to ease it
(3). Reasons: the common reasons for angina pectoris are physical labor or excitement (like worry, anger or over excitement). Besides, being too full, constipation, coldness, smoking, fast or slow heartbeat, too high or low blood pressure and shock can also cause it. But it always breaks out at the time when people take part in physical labor or are very excite instead of being after the labor for one time or one day. Typical angina pectoris will break out during the same situations, but sometimes, the same physical labor will cause it in the morning but not in the afternoon, which tells that it does have something with lower threshold of pain. And some angina pectoris will happen during evening sleep, noon rest or daytime flat lying, which is Anginadecubitus.
(4). Lasting time: if angina pectoris breaks out periodically, it will heaven after pains come out and will disappear in 3 to 5 minutes. It seldom lasts a quarter, but if it is over a quarter, perhaps there must be acute myocardium infarction.
 (5) Ways to ease: generally, it will be eased after the activity causing the it stops or in 3 minutes after putting Nitroglycerinum under the tongue.  Anginadecubitus happening in sound sleep will be eased after getting up to sit or stand.
